Question:

First time buying house, who represents me?

I'm thinking about purchasing my first home, but am finding myself a bit intimidated by the lenders and realtors (neither of which I have made any deals with or signed any paperwork with) My question is....is there any help out there for a first time home buyer rather than, say, an attorney. Who can I get to look out for my best interest. I know everyone is trying to make a profit, but....these people are going to pick up on my lack of knowledge and I kind of feel like a sitting duck in a river of piranas. I'm a great candidate to get taken advantage of so where do I go for guidance? Thanks a lot.

  1. Not sure what Country,  state/province you are in ?  but if in Canada or the U.S. then I'd echo what a few people have written in this thread.. Find a REALTOR that will represent you as a "BUYER's Agent"  They will be duty-bound to act in your best interests and can be sooooo helpful, and they should know all the ways to help a first time buyer.
