First time cake decorator???

Okay so Im wanting to start cake decorating and I was wondering what all do I need to get myself started??? Thank yall

Take a Wilton basic cake decorating class at a Michaels, Hobby Lobby, or community center.  They will tell you the bare basics to buy to get started.  Be sure and print a coupon off the internet for either of the stores to save anywhere from 25-40% on a starter kit of supplies.

Michael's and JoAnn Fabrics offer classes.  Many cake shops do as well and sometimes the local community college, too.  Check out the classes that are offered in your area.  You will need to purchase some supplies and practice, practice, practice.

I took 3 sets of classes years ago through a local Cake Shoppe.  It is lots of fun.

get all your ingredients ready like icing, sprinkles etc. if your just covering regular cake, spread the icing with a knife in small circle, getting then all around the top of the cake. For the sides you should just go around the cake with thickish layers.

Michael's usually has classes, and so might other craft stores that have cake decorating sections.... or try a local junior college or community college
