I'm a 22 yr. old male (i know, go ahead and laugh) and my buddy wants to have a drinking party but i don't want to get sickly though cause of work. What if i brought a can of soda with me and hid it and when he gave me my beer i would just ask to go to the bathroom and pour the beer out and switch it with soda. I know this sounds childish but what's the alternative. help add to this to make it a fool proof plan.

  1. To be honest, I think that hiding a can of soda somewhere is a silly idea.  I think what you should do is take some sodas with you, accept the first beer he offers you, drink it slowly and then hit the sodas.

You might get teased, but so what.  If everyone was smoking something illegal and they teased you for not having any, you'd still probably stick to your guns and not smoke it.  Same with drink - if you don't want it, don't have it.  Just because it is legal, doesn't make it absolutely necessary.

  2. First off, you won't get sick/drunk off a single beer. Just so you know. Unless of course you are a 4'10" tall 75 pound female.

However, if you are really freaked out about this and want to drink the beer without trying any silly tricks, eat a lot of bead and drink a lot of water.

  3. Switching out your drink like that is pretty creative. If you get paranoid that he'll figure out there's no beer on your breath, you can always just pour out half of it and top it up with something like sprite. (It's called a Shandy.)

If you do end up drinking, before you go to bed take a Vitamin B pill and drink at least a full glass of water, preferably two. Put another glass of water beside your bed along with two aspirin just in case. The hangover and headache is mostly about dehydration from the alcohol because alcohol is a diuretic.

Always open/pour your own drink. Never leave your drink sitting around where you can't see it. You hear all sorts of stories about "friends" adding drugs to other people's drinks.

  4. Even if you've never had an alcoholic beverage before, it's very unlikely that drinking one beer will make you ill or give you a hangover. ...Although your first taste may make you wonder why people drink the stuff!

On the other hand, your buddy's "drinking party" would be a pretty pathetic one if all he had on offer was one beer for each attendee.

If you don't want to feel ill at the party or the day after, don't drink on an empty stomach and limit your consumption to, say, no more than two or three beers drunk slowly during the course of a couple hours.

  5. Everyone has different limits... The first time you drink... don't get so drunk so fast that you dont know your limits... Find your limit first and then build from there

  6. I would be honest and say you don't drink. I have a friend who doesn't drink and she still goes to the bars with us.  We actually love that she doesn't because she drives us home.  If anyone says anything just say that you wanted to be responsible and offer to give people a ride so there is no drunk driving.  I think it is respectable.

  7. Saying you don't drink may sound really g*y, but pretending to drink when you're really taking swigs of pepsi instead is really, REALLY g*y.  It's gayer than TLC, in fact.

So it's up to you, really, you can say "I don't drink" and get teased a little bit, or you can be a gigantic flaming ****** who's so ashamed of himself he has to pretend his soda is booze.

  8. Just keep eating stuff and you wont feel as sick. Drink water or soda to keep yourself from ingesting as much alcohol. Maybe mix coke and rum ^^

  9. will the beer be in cans or bottles if cans act like ur drinking and watch the 1st person to pitch their empty can and go exchange ur full beer to the empty 1 if its bottles then u could like take it to bathroom and fill it up with water....but could i ask u a ? if ur buddy is a real buddy why cant u just tell him the truth i mean i would say to him"i will go to the drinking party but i dont drink"if hes a buddy at all he will understand if he laughs and stuff hes not a friend in the 1st place.
