First time fisherman here. I bought a rod, bait and line. Don't know how to add the line. Does anyone know

It's the rod that has a a round cup and the line is supposed to sit inside of it. Somehow i tangled it all up. I removed the entire line that it came with and now want to add new line to it, but i can't get it go and come or expand and contract...or whatever the proper term is. Can anyone help.

You may need a more pliable line.Put the line thru the hole in the cup and then tie the line to the spool. Put the cup back on and start reeling. Make sure the line is little taut while reeling.
