  1. shampoo is fine if its not on carry-on all beverages are fine electronics bigger than a nintendo ds are searched but thats not a big deal

  2. anything you want can be in checked luggage.  All shampoos, mousse, gel etc.  If you are going to bring everything carry on then they have to the travel sized bottles (available at most drug stores or Walmart), they also must be in clear 1 litre bags.  So buy what you can, but make sure it all fits within ONE 1 litre ziplock bag.  If you want water, juice, pop etc for the flight buy it AFTER you go through security as they will just confinscate it, even unopened.  Also, do not try to take any lighters or matches with you as they will also confinscate those (I know that sounds like common sense but they used to allow one or two lighters per person and now they don't anymore).

    Hope that helps!

  3. Go to your airline's web site. They have information on what you can take on your carry-on.

In your hand carry luggage, you can take toothpaste, shampoo, and other toiletry goo. They need to be in a container that is marked as 3 ounces or less. For instance, they won't allow 2 oz of a substance in a container marked 4 oz. They'll make you toss water bottles unless it's in a 3 oz. container. Seems that they allow safety razors. They don't mind me taking small snacks on the plane either.

Any goo material must be in a clear 1 quart zip-loc bag. When you go through the x-ray security, remove the zip-loc bag with you goo containers and place it in one of the little trays they provide. Watch what people do in front of you before you get to the x-ray machine.

In your checked in luggage, you can have normal sized toiletry stuff. Be sure to put any gooey material in plastic bags as the pressure differential can cause these items to leak from their containers. You can minimize leakage problems if you squeeze a little bit of air out of the container before closing the lid.

Use common sense. If an article can poke or cut, don't put it in your hand carry luggage. The TSA folks aren't allowed to use their brain.

Also, be sure you have a 2 or 3 days of clothing in your carry-on. The airlines loose luggage like crazy these days and it can take zero days to a week to get your lost luggage back. Also, no valuables in your checked in luggage. Theft from luggage happens now that you can't lock your luggage. You can get a TSA compliant lock, but that only keeps half of the theives out of your stuff. I've even heard of people getting food items stolen from their luggage!

  4. If you are going to carry your bag with you on the plane then all liquids must be in 3 oz. bottles. If you are going to check your luggage then any size container is fine.

  5. you can bring anything liquid that is LESS THAN 3 OUNCES!  It has to be in a ZIPLOC BAG. You can bring any amount of liquid in your luggage though. No guns, lighters, bombs, scissors, or anything sharp for that matter.

  6. you should be able to check the website of the airline you are flying with and it should be able to give you an accurate checklist.
