  1. eh, it shouldn't take but like, 10-15 minutes.

i'd say take the advil 30 minutes or so b4 the appt. then it has time to kick in.

getting the braces on does take a while cause they have to align the brackets.

  2. getting them tightened takes no more than fifteen minutes. It's not as bad as getting braces put on an the soreness doesn't last as long.

  3. it's not that bad. it's a little sore for like 2 days.

they just pop the wire out and pop a smaller one in.

    5 minutes.

  4. advil will definitely help so taking it would be a smart idea. it takes 5-15 minutes depending on the orthodontist and how busy they are at the moment. the soreness only goes for two or three days, avoid eating hard foods. i was told by an orthodontist that chewing sugar-free gum will help the soreness go away sooner, although yes it will hurt while chewing.

    hope i could help =]

  5. not long at all unless theres a problem

    like 10- 20minutes or something

  6. It only takes a few minutes you should be out in less than 20min

  7. Probably less than 30 minutes. It will feel kind of sore after though. Good luck.

  8. it should only take about 5-10 minutes.

but yeah you should be prepared for the pain that comes afterwards. :(. don't worry, it only lasts the first few days.

  9. i get my graces tightened almost every six weeks and its not them tighting it that hurts it hurts maybe 30 mins. after but its not going to take that long and its not unbarable so just suck it up

  10. not that long. you will be in and out befor you know it. good luck! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  11. only a few minutes, its nothing. its completely different then gettin the on

  12. not very long. Tightening doesn't take long at all I would say 20 minutes at the most but probably less. And yea it hurts take advil

  13. Mostly iif it takes a while,  it's probably your dentist.  Mine were tightened by just replacing the current wire with a stronger one.  Took like 10-15 minutes.  But the first time might take longer since he/she will want to make sure things are moving along as planned.

Good idea on the advil,  make sure you have plenty of mushy food (pasta or something) since you will be sore!

  14. it only takes like 20 minutes and it really doesnt hurt too bad ^-^

  15. about 5 or 10 minutes as all they do is take the wire out and put a shorter piece of wire in so it pulls your teeth straighter gradually, it'll feel a bit tight and uncomfortable for a few days after but nothing major x

  16. if your dentist is good and sure of himself it usually should take about 30 minutes. Choose the colors you want before the appointment so it can move faster.

  17. probably around an hour. i dont take the advil before though because it numbs your mouth and you dont want that.take it right after the tightening.

  18. It's Prob going to take about 15 to 30 min. But I will advice you to take advil or tylonol because it hurts the 1st time. Your mouth is going to feel a little sore. But it's not has bad as getting your braces. Now that was painful lol. Hope this Helps =D

  19. Advil? Dont take it. Scary, i read the warning (you should too)

says "may cause stomach bleeding". I was like, WHAT?

    Take tylenol.

(Sorry got a little off topic)

It will take around an hour. First time hurts (advil/tylenol are also great painkillers explains why you have to take em )

  20. not long at all it may hurt though. Brace yourself.

  21. Ahhhh..that is a part of having braces that I will not miss! I had mine on for 3 years and got them off like..7 years ago lol. But I always hated getting them tightened. When you first go in and get them tightened they don't hurt for a few hours. Your teeth will feel really weird because they obviously don't want to be pulled in that direction lol. But yes, take advil after you get them tightened. It will probably hurt your teeth to eat hard foods for a couple days. You get used to it after a while though. Good luck :)
