Hey guys im 18 and obviosly from the title I've never drank before. I've made up my mind that I'd like to get drunk surrounded by good friends rather than a bunch of college guys before I move out in the next month. This brings me to my question:

How do you reccomend I treat this situation? How many beers should I stick to? im 160 lbs ish and I'm pretty healthy as far as I believe anyway. Is there any advice you guys could give me?

I will be spending the night and definitley will NOT be driving home. Also any tips on hangovers / preventing them? Sorry for all the questions but I appreciate all of your help guys

Thanks!

  1. okay first, don't ever give your age when you ask a question like that cause certain people start feeling all high and mighty and tell you you shouldn't cause you're underage. f.u.c.k. that. I'm 18 too and have been partying for the past 2 years of my life.

from the sounds of it, it seems like you've never drank before... this can be a problem in that you really don't know what you like to drink yet. I've personally never liked the taste of beer and proly never will so i am a liquor kinda guy, shots, mixed drinks, cocktails, whatever. They provide much more flavors and taste better.

Don't know what you mean necessarily by how do i treat the situation... i'll try to help. don't let anyone force you to drink while you are at the party/gathering cause then that leads to overdrinking and hang over, throwing up,etc. just all around bad feelings. its sort of hard to pin-point but there is a level of drunkness that you can get to to where you are still feeling really good, won't get sick, and won't even have a hang over in the morning. Its a very thin line between the two so it will take some experimenting.

Only stick to one form of alcohol. So either beer, or liquor, NOT BOTH! both will f.u.c.k. you up before you know it.

Also, and this is a BIG one, DO NOT be sitting down the entire time you are drinking. This is a MAJOR mistake. Its good to be moving around a bit, walking, dancing whatever, but just dont sit down for an extended amount of time while drinking because you dont feel the affects of the alcohol while you are sitting and then the second you stand up, it all rushes to you and before you know it, you've drank way more than you should have.

If you dont want to get absolutely plastered, i also encourage to eat some good sized meals during the day or even right before to help soak up some of the alcohol and work some water in there every now and then

really hope all this helps and hoping for best answer

  2. Just go slow--drink too fast and you'll just end up in the bathroom all night!

Don't forget to drink water, too.  It'll help with hangovers tomorrow!

  3. Just stop when you feel a buzz, why get drunk and vomit all night? That's no fun, not to mention the headache.

  4. That depends on your body size and how much you normally drink in the first place. I am 5'8 and start getting a buzz after 6 or 7 beers but I can drink about a case. It just depends on how your body handles it.

  5. Drink a few beers and see how you feel. Take it slow. Make sure you like the effects of drinking alcohol.

Try to eat something before you start drinking. Its not good to drink on an empty stomach.

Drink some water before you go to sleep. The alcohol will dehydrate you. A hangover is caused by your  body's withdraw from the sugar in the alcohol. So make sure you drink plenty of fluids the next day.

    Have fun and be safe.

  6. Just drink till you are drunk.

Dont drink beer before hard alcohol or you may get sick. If you are gonna drink hard alcohol then then start with that then switch to beer.

Drink water in between drinks to keep from getting a hangover.

Dont drink too fast either cause you dont know your limit yet and if you drink too much too fast it will catch up to you and you may be at the toilet all night.

Start slow and enjow the feeling, it is fun.

  7. very stupid IDEA,,

you are to enjoy your alcohol...

getting drunk is plain trouble your buddies just might rape you

never loose track of the time and never drink more than ONE an hour

the cliche is " you don't know how to HOLD your liquor"

    KEY word HOLD

  8. it wont take you many to get drunk, since it will be your first time. so just drink till you feel that you had enough, and when your friends tell you that you had enough, seriously YOU'VE HAD ENOUGH. i remember my first time, and i never listened to anyone when they told me i had enough, i ended up with the worst hangover the next day, so drink water too.

    but have fun!

  9. Drink slowly , If u start slowing down ALOT. and getting tired stop. And TRY AND EAT SOMETHING. drink REV for a beginner

  10. Since your 18 id say you can drink like a big boy but still be careful. Dont over do it cause ive made that mistake too many times throwing up like there was no tomorrow. If you want to take like 2 or 3 shots that may give you a nice buzz. Or if you want to stick to beer 4 to 6 will do the trick. The point of drinking is to enjoy it, not see how drunk you can get so yeah have a good time. Ive never actually completely prevented a hangover, but ive made it so that i can easily deal with it. Take like two over the counter painkillers like advil or tylenol before you go to bed and after you wake up. Since your going to be going easy your first time (or at least you should be) it wont matter if you mix the pills with alcohol i do it all the time.

  11. not sure how many beers you should drink cuz honestly i rarely drink but i can definitely reccommend having plenty of food in your stomach and drinking lots of water especially after you drink mostly because i hangover is caused by a lack of hydration. good luck bro stay safe
