First time growing cabbage and I have only leaves......?

Question, will I ever get a head of cabbage, or shall I pick the leaves?

  1. Depends when u planted.

    Plant cabbage in early spring or even before.

    Its a cool weather plant


  2. it starts off this way leave it alone it will form a head it takes awhile. If the leaves start to get eatin by bugs put some beer in a pan near plants they will go to it and drown.

  3. Are you sure there isn't a little head forming down in all those leaves?  If you are in a cooler part of the country your cabbage can take most of season to form a full head since some varieties take up to 120 days to mature, so be patient.  If you are in the south and it hasn't formed a head yet you probably won't get much since hot weather is not conducive to cabbage growth.
