First time having guppies...please help? (W/ PICTURES)

Question

One of my guppy in a bit fat. Which one is a male/female? Is it pregnant? When will she have her fries? How long do u think it was pregnant? Please Help....this is my first time having guppies. Thank you!

Red one is male, fat one is pregnant female.  You don't need to do anything.  She will have the fry all on her own.  You could add some live plants to make more nice hiding places in your tank.

yup the red one is a male...and the other one is a pregnant female..Are you interested in the fry??..if so cover the base of the tank with java moss...that way the fry can hide..if not then the parents will eat them anyway...but a good rule is to have 3 females for every male...guppies reproduce every 3-4 weeks..this will exhaust the only female in your tank...better get a couple of more females...and how big is your tank..I hope its at least 10 gallons...

Generally,if you want more babies alive put her in one of those net babyfish things, remember to remove her when shes done! if you want a few,definetly take a stocking and cover the filter...they can really make a horrid mess if they get in there....and guppies store sperm so dividing the genders is pretty useless...to keep the population down  get ....I dont know the english...Skalar in german,small ones,they eat any small ones....sounds cruel I know but once you have too many...at least its natural.Have fun

The male is the much more brightly coloured guppy. the females are usually much bigger, as yours is, ans she is much duller in colour. It looks like shes going to pop any day now, ans she will give birth to fully formed miniature guppies! she looks like shes been pregnant for around 2 weeks. the adults may try and eat them, so you should either get a breeding trap to keep them separated in, or use a planted aquarium so they can hide amongst the plants. you should also get some more females, as the male will bother the female constantly, and this can be stressful for her. should have around 1 male to 2/3 females.

the black 1 is female females have a fan shaped fin underneath and males have 1 shaped like a tube. ur water looks as though u have a wee bit of an ammonia problem, she could have a few weeks buy a breeding tank that has a seperate compartment 4 the fry (fries ha i found that funny) the tank is less than 10r dont get the net she might eat them and the seperate compartment lets them go 2the bottom away from danger, wen she seems 2 have stopped giving birth it can b as many as 60 (mine had 6) take the mother out and if u have loads ask friends can they house them if not ask ur local pet store u wont get much 4 them but at least they wont be contaminating ur tank
