First-time scrapbooker who needs HELP! Please!?

Growing up, my parents took thousands of pictures of me, motivated by my mother's regret for never having any pictures of herself. But last year, while housesitting for my grandmother, I stumbled upon a treasure trove of baby/toddler pictures of my mom. I decided that, for her birthday, I would create a photo album that included not only these old photographs she didn't know existed, but pictures of me and my siblings in similar situations/poses, to make the album that much more memorable and special.

But I've never scrapbooked before! I tried to pull it all together in the weeks before her fiftieth birthday, but it was a mess, and it took me forever to figure out how to mount the photos and think up layouts and what-not.

I'm going to start again for this year (I have a month or so), but I'd like to know the best way to go about it. There are maybe 100-150 photos, and I tried to fit four or five photos on a page.

What kind of album is good? Something I can add to in the future?

First off  you need to get a big scarp book and no more than two per page you may end up doing to books ( you can add pagges to the ones you buy but not that many)   Or just picking the really nice ones and then doing the rest in a album.   each page needs a theme and or color combo. go to a craft store like Micheals, pat catans, Jo Ann Fabric. They have books on scrap booking. We got some from the library. It shows you how to group your ideas.  Use like two pictures and  maybe some quotes and a sticker or two on colored paper.

Why not check out some create and crafing websites and look under scrapbooking ideas and see how others have designed there books and ready made albums.

I do alot of card making and have designed and created scrapbooking pages for my children and have used a kind of paper and glue that will keep the photos in good condition for a long time.

This way each page is personal and it will mean alot to your mum as each page will be created and designed by you and its alot of fun too; you won't just stop on this project you'll be wanted more good luck and have fun .
