First time setting

Question

i just bought 2 new skagen watches online and when they arrived they weren't working. is there something that has to be done to get them to start initially. i assume they do this so the batteries aren't in use while they sit on the shelves but now i don't know how to start them and would like to avoid taking it to a watch dealer
