Hey ladz,

Well im going to the snow this year with some mates, im snowboarding for the first time and wanted to get some good gear that will last and be both good for tricks at the park and stability at the slopes.

I was thinking of getting the large burton EST bindings with the Burton 2008 Limited Edition Custom ICS snowboard.

Would this be to advanced and difficult for me to use or would it help aid me learn quicker and last me at the snow. Im planning on going every season.

Also any other tips that you might have for snowboards, bindings, boots would be very much appreciated, cheers!

  1. I think the Custom is a little much for a begginner. But as far as bindings go, they dont really affect how well you ride.

And dont listen to that dude, Burton is one of the better snowboard brands. They may be pricier but they have way better quality.

  2. burton bindings are not for anyone. dont get them. for a beginner like yourself, get some k2 formulas. they rock. if you don't have a board, get a ride kink. when buying boots, try them on first.

  3. If your going snowboarding for the first time, bindings won't really matter. Burton, for one thing, does not make good boards (but they're OK for beginners). They make good bindings and other snowboarding related gear though. The bindings and board is too advanced. The things you should be focusing on are the basics.  All you need is a nice flexible beginners board. Also, try to go to a smaller, private resort to learn fundamentals. Big resorts can't teach for beans. If you have no choice, get a private lesson or week long group lesson.
