  1. Take a lesson... you will be far more successful.  Have fun!

  2. your gonna fall quite a bit but that is part of the learning process. do a few bunny runs and practice the "S" turn. An "S" turn is being able to snake left and right without pausing in the middle to brake. try turning left and right twice, then braking and repeat that process until you don't need to break in the middle anymore. aim your shoulders and hands to the direction you want to go and that will help you starting out. good luck and have fun!

  3. hey hey hey,

before you go, before you even put your feet in your bindings...please, make sure you stretch.  trust me, take about fifteen minutes or more to just stretch your legs and the rest of your body.  you will be super sore if you dont, also, I would suggest stretching afterwards as well so you dont get tensed up.  anyway, with that aside, probably the best thing you can do because the difference is quite vast between the two sports...take a lesson, learn the basic fundamentals from someone who knows what they are doin and then you have the rest of the day to do whatever you want to on your shred stick.  it will help you alot to do such.  it is frustrating to not really know what your doing or how to practically do it cause then you spend alot of time on your tail end sitting in the snow frustrated, i see it all the time :)  trust me, after you take a lesson, you will definately feel like you have had a full day when you get to go on your own afterwards.  plus who knows...maybe the instructor will be hot, you will fall madly in love and live happily ever after???  jk-the other thing that is probably most important of all...HAVE FUN!!! Smile alot, laugh, throw snowballs...just remember, FUN FUN FUN!!  Enjoy the ride :)
