How is this medicine? Does it make you sleepy? When's the best time to take this medicine? My doctor put me on Lexapro 10 mg. today and I'm just curious about the medication.

  1. Lexapro can cause side effects,  Sleepiness/drowsiness is one of them but medicines affect people differently.  Also some of the side effects can wear off after time and not be a problem.

I use to take Lexapro,  I use to take it in the morning,   I mentioned about being sleepy during the day to my doctor,  he said I can take it at night and try it that way.   You can ask your doctor the same thing.

The medicine did help me and lift me out of a very dark time.

Johny  or Seng who recommends not to take medicine,  needs to be careful about what he recommends.  When addressing Mental health.  It isn't as easy as thinking happy thoughts, a case of mind over matter and living a healthy lifestyle and learning a few relaxation techniques.

I understand your website offers valid information and techniques,  but some people are in need of additional medical help.

Chemical imbalances in the brain are a real condition that need to be addressed by a professional.   We are not talking about an occasional case of the blues or a down day.

Depression and anxiety is to be taken seriously.

  2. Lexapro never made me sleepy. The only side effect I had from it was very vivid dreams but no trouble with my sleep at all. I was prescribed it for GAD and panic disorder. It didn't work well for those conditions for me. But hopefully you will get some benefit from it.

  3. it does have some small side effects but nothing that  a little excercise and coping skills will takecare of
