  1. it's just not in far enough.

You should take it out, and get a fresh one.

You put the applicator (plastic part) as far in as you can, while still being able to hold on to it.

Then you push, so it goes in. It should go in pretty far, so you can't see it.

You should not be able to feel it, and it should be comfortable.

    good luck! :)

  2. common mistake, i did that my first time too .. you just didn't put it in far enough. you shouldnt be able to feel it at all.

  3. yeah, its prob not in all the way. u can push it in with ur finger, or just take it out and try again. the first time i used one, it wasnt in all the way and i couldnt even sit down, lol.

just wet it with some water or something if u wanna keep trying. if not, then try later.

  4. you took all the plastic out. if you see something other than the string you didn't put it in far enough just push it in with your fingers until you see nothing but the string. its ok if its uncomfortable because you just started using them. after a couple of times of using it a couple of times it wont hurt anymore.

  5. sorry....i use pads which are best. i think the only time that you should wear tampons is if your going swimming. other than that, i would think pads are the best choice. but it is great that you have tried it for the first time:). since you said that it is uncomfortable, you put it in the wrong way. just because its your first time inserting one doesnt mean it would hurt, unless you inserted it wrong which is common. i think you should take that one out and get a new one and try again. best of luck on the second try:D

  6. Did you take all the plastic out and is it in far enough?

No, it's not normal, use a new on and put it in farther, and make sre you take all the plastic out!

  7. It sounds like it's not placed right into your body.  When I first started using tampons, it took me a few tries to get the hang of them.  Basically, you want to use the lightest possible tampon that will be able to handle your flow.  The box for your maxi pads will tell you how many grams they absorb; compare that number to the tampons to decide which strength to use.  If you use a tampon that is too strong for what you need, it will feel very uncomfortable.

Also, some women--particularly younger women whose bodies are still thinner--have found that regular tampons are too wide for their bodies, and so they get the ones in "slender" or "teen" size, which are specifically designed to be thinner.  For some women, these are more comfortable.

When you put in a tampon, you want to push it in as far as it will comfortably go.  You shouldn't be able to see any of the cotton part, just the string.  If your tampon has an applicator (plastic thing or cardboard thing that you use to put it in--OB brand doesn't have them), make sure you only use that to help you put the tampon in; don't accidentally leave it in you.

When it's in correctly, it won't hurt.  After a couple of days, you'll be used to the.  You'll be able to sit/stand/dance/run/swim or whatever you like to do, and you either won't feel the tampon or you barely will.

If you still find the tampons bothering you, consider talking to your doctor or school nurse for suggestions on alternatives that may work best for your body.

  8. Yeah it wasn't far enough in. Don't worry, I do the same thing sometimes. Either try pushing it in a little farther in or try another one. I'm 24 and just started using them and had the same problem. Next time just put the applicator in as far as it feels comfortable before pushing it together.

If you feel dry, then it will probalby be better to wait to try again since there isn't any fluid for the tampon to absorb. Good luck with the next try :)

  9. just shove that ***** in there

  10.    I remeber when I used my first tampon, it was not comfortable!  A friend suggested that to insert the tampon with one foot planted firmly on the floor, while standing near the toilet , place your other foot on the toilet lid. bend slightly at the waist while inserting the tampon, till it feels a comfortable depth to you.  With time and experience it'll get easier and you will love the freedom wearing a tampon offers.  I hope this helps!  It did me.

  11. You should take it out, and push the applicator as far in as you can before inserting it. You'll get the hang of it eventually.

  12. Make sure you're using the right size tampon according to your menstrual flow. Just take the one you have in now out an put another one in because it should be placed in all the way. Just try to relax your muscles so insertion will be a lot easier. The first time you use a tampon can cause some discomfort and that's normal but, you will get used to. If not, you can always use pads until you're ready.
