First timer on Track? Help?

I'm totally brand new in track n field and it will start next year so I'll have all summer to prepare for it. My friends have suggested the 800 m, so how would I prepare specifically for the 800m? Also, if I swim along with running, would that help me prepare too?

  1. do cross country, it will really help along w/ running thru the summer and winter


  2. Train and run Cross Country, that will give you the base for the 800m

    Swimming will help.
