My husband and I have a trip to NYC coming up (he's been before) and this is my first trip there. We are set to see 2 broadway shows "Wicked" and "the little mermaid" I want to see the statue of Liberty, go up in the empire state building, see Central Park, and ofcourse spend some time in Times Square What else would you suggest we do or see? We are going to be there for four days? and is there anything a first time visitor needs to know? Also can you tell me some good restuarants?

Thanks.

  1. Don't forget to go to Madame Tussaud's wax museum plus the Macy's. And visit the Ground Zero. Have fun!

  2. dont mind the garbage, the smell of urine everywhere you go, the overcrowdiness, and all the neurotic new yorkers.

  3. I suggest reading up on the city in a travel guidebook, like Fodors or Lonely Planet.

It is such a huge city, with so much to do, it all will depend on your interests.  I loved touring the UN, and also the Cloisters museum and the Met, but these are my interests and may not be yours.

Also, restaurants will depend on your budget.  The city is full of interesting ethnic restaurants..... try some new & unusual food!

Going to Ellis Island takes a while, due to the ferry ride, lines, etc.  The museum there is quite interesting too.

    Have a great trip!

  4. Take a tour that gets you into the empire state building The same bus tour will take you to Statue of liberty and ground zero.
