First two 2012 tests: Red Bull have upper hand while Ferrari in trouble – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing continues to be the pacemaker after the first two pre-season Formula 1 tests held at the Jerez Circuit, Spain and Circuit de Catalunya, Barcelona.
Moreover, Red Bull’s swiftness is much more attributed to the specialist, Adrian Newey, the technical director of the team for his contributions in the penning of new RB8.
In the most recent evaluations of the teams, the world’s renowned publications which include Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport, Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport and Britain’s Autosport have expressed that Red Bull racing driver, Sebastian Vettel again has the
best car at the beginning of the upcoming 2012 Formula 1 season.
“They still have an advantage, but it’s smaller,” agreed Jenson Button, according to O Estado de S. Paulo.
His boss Martin Whitmarsh added, “Red Bull has a solid, fast car, better than us in slow corners, but we’re better in the fast ones.”
“Red Bull is faster (than Mercedes),” said the German marque’s boss Ross Brawn, “and clearly a little more than we had hoped for,” he told Auto Motor und Sport.
However, Sonntagsblick stated that McLaren was ahead of Red Bull while Mercedes held the third place and Force India held the fourth place which was quite astonishing.
Moreover, Lotus was given the third place by AMS and eighth place by Blick.
AMS has expressed that the legendary Italian team, Ferrari is nothing short of an unfortunate forthcoming season. Furthermore, abovementioned publications stated that Ferrari is in quite a trouble this year and gave a ranking which is not more than fifth
in the list.
Moreover, Sauber’s Kamui Kobayashi set the fastest lap during the test last week but Roger Benoit who is a correspondent of Blick has advised not to take it seriously. However, Kobayashi himself expressed, “I don’t think McLaren and Red Bull are slow.”
Felipe Massa said to a Spanish reporter that the second test was little more positive than the first one while he was asked to rate his team out of ten in the upcoming season. “Probably more than five. There is still much to do, but now we are closer than
we were,” said the Brazilian.
