  1. Definitely PHP. It's one of the easiest to learn and it can be run on pretty much any server. It has less annoying little rules than most languages.

Plus, unlike ASP, you don't have to worry about MS changing it in 2 years with no backward compatibility.

  2. Agreed definitely with PHP. PHP is quite simple if you take it step by step, yet an amazingly powerful language. It also complements your knowledge of HTML and CSS really well too. If you don't want to learn PHP then I think you should go with Java as it is very common, more so than the others, still kind of works with HTML/CSS knowledge, and starting with something esoteric will be harder to learn.

  3. PHP.

The others you listed (other than Javascript and cold fusion) are strictly Microsoft language technologies. If you want to work in that environment for the rest of your career, that's how to do it.

PHP is cross-platform and open source, which means it won't cost you anything to learn it or use it. PHP is far more widely-used today, and, trust me, there's tons of work out there for good developers.

ColdFusion is something that was popular a few years ago, but the amount of shops using it is dwindling rapidly. There are better alternatives for free (CF is NOT open source).

Understanding JavaScrip would also be a great idea. JS is used in all browsers on all platforms, and is the basis for much of the AJAX stuff out there today. JS allows you to do some client-side things that server-side languages can't.
