  1. dear flippzz,

highschool is a breeze. you are going to have a blast.

its normal to be nervous before you start your freshman year, but just know that you aren't alone. everyone in your grade is scared, trust me.

since you missed the orientation, you might be able to get a school map or even walk around the place before school starts. and don't worry about getting  a detention if you miss 3 classes. teachers are linient, and know that you are new to the school so they will cut you some slack and give you a break. they probably wont give you a detention if you were honestly lost getting to class.

do you have a cell phone? cause when you get your schedule, text all your friends and ask them when their lunch period is. if you find someone who is in your lunch, tell them a meeting place, such as the bathroom or vending machine. this way you will find him or her, and have someone to sit with. if not, then make a friend! thats what highschool is all about. seriously, no one will care if you go up to a table and ask them if you can sit there. the more the marrier.

the first week of highschool is fun. its a lot different than middle school, but you will get used to it, i promise.

    best of luck!

  2. everybody feels the same as u on their 1st day of high school. just relax and try and enjoy it! the more u get urself worked up, the more mistakes ur gonna make and the more ur gonna dislike school. after the 1st week or 2 u'll be wondering wot u were worried about in the 1st place!

  3. its ok if u missed orientation and plus everyone is late on the first day of school so just go really early then

and also, i think you get a map of ur school in ur agenda or a separate piece of paper...

and obviously ur nervous and alll..all the freshmans are and they all think the same... that they wont hv any frends etc but since they all think that eventually they all become eachothers frends and no on is left alone

so dont be shy... highschool is a new beginning and start new and fresh

work hard and balance out everything

    xoxo

  4. High school not that big of a deal, just ask other people where you classes are they will always help and during class there will be other people like you who don't really know anyone, so just introduce yourself and in a few days you'll have some great friends! If you are worried about lunch just talk to people. It will work out!

  5. Class of 2010

    Just be yourself.

  6. Get yourself comfortable in your own skin, realize that everyone else is too busy worrying about the same stuff to even pay attention to how shy or nervous you are, and most schools are very lenient on being late to class for the first couple days - especially if this is your first year in that school

  7. Relax, it's not that scary and daunting, plus, you should have at least one person from your old school going to the same high school. But just approach people and ask if you can hang out with them. If they say no, then they're a bunch of losers for not giving you a go. Just be yourself. With the timetable thing and getting late to class, find someone with the same timetable as you, and ask if they can show you around. Or get there early before school starts and ask one of the students to show you around. It's not that scary. Just relax and have fun.

  8. Get to school early on the first day/call the school before you start to ask them about having a private orientation because you missed the first one.  On the first day, just try to be confident or at least exude confidence.  People will be drawn to you and it will be easier to meet friends.  Also, the school might be able to give you some names of people who will be in your class that you could contact or even names of older students who could give you some advice about starting at the school.

I understand being shy, I am very shy, but if you can't be confident, at least try to make eye contact with some people or say hi to people in the hallway.

    Good luck! Hope I helped

  9. dont worry I started my first year of highschool on august 15th omg I waz soooooo nervous!!! the teachers are really easy on u for the first couple of weeks if ur late because ur new and havent got the hang of it yet. And the teachers talk to u and tell u where to go and the 1st they they make a bunch of announcements about lunch times and all that. I am very shy too just talk to people thatz in ur class and when its lunch time find a group of people that u think u will like go up to them and ask them if u can sit there, just say "Can I sit here" and after u sit there introduce yourself. and chances r they will already be friends and be talking about classes and they will ask u about urs. It will be great I LUV IT!!! And now Im like y did I worry so much

  10. Well because my town is small our high school is from grades 7 to 12. First I suggest you go to your school as soon as possible. Take your schedule and walk through all of your classes so you know where they all are and how to get there fastest. If you get detention don't worry, you just sit there and nothing happens. And you should have friends seeing as you were in 8th grade. Talk to some of your friends now and plan to sit together, If you don't have any friends then sit at at a random table of people in your grade. Don't forget that they are going through the same troubles as you.
