Firstknight all set to do damage in Jebel Ali’s Al Tal Engineering (Handicap) (Dirt)
Firstknight was mighty impressive on his previous start at Jebel Ali in UAE. It was not an easy race, but the Doug Watson-trained did a terrific job to seize the first place comfortably back in January this year.
The sweet memories of his last success at this venue are still fresh. Although an unlucky defeat came to his way after that win, one can expect him to resume his marvellous work here.
The 4-year-old has been given the chance to unleash his talent in the Al Tal Engineering (Handicap) (Dirt), to be held on Friday, November 02, 2012. He has the ability to perform well in different conditions.
After doing plenty of good work in Great Britain, the son of Kyllachy travelled to UAE last winter. On the second of last December, he made his first outing outside UK. Despite being under tremendous amount of pressure, the Cheveley Park Stud Ltd-bred did
well to ensure a place on the podium.
Owned by Rajendra Lalit Agarwal, the skilful gelding faced a couple of embarrassing defeats at Meydan, but got his act together when returned to Jebel Ali. Firstknight has a wonderful track record at this venue. So, there is no reason why he should not do
some damage in today’s crucial meeting.
There are seven other participants. The competition is for a prize of £5,291. Over a distance of six furlongs, the contestants will do their best to capture the first rank. An exciting battle is on the cards.
Out of others, no one makes any appeal. Myownway has been given good odds, but one needs a big heart to trust him. Since sealing his maiden success back in November 2011, the A. Al Raihe has been struggling. He was terrible on his previous three outings
last winter.
Nanni The Teaser, on the other hand, will aim to add the finishing touch. The 6-year-old knows this track well, but needs to change his habit of running good races in defeat. S. Seemar’s charge was second to Firstknight in January, and we predict the same
outcome today. Good luck to all the contenders.
