  1. Yes blue zebra's can eat flakes, but make sure if you have to feed them flakes that they are the tropical variety as the cold water flakes have lower nutritional value and do not bring out the natural colour of most tropical fish.

But if you can, I'd suggest feeding them brine shrimp (sea monkeys) every week or two as these have a great deal of positive fats which will help give your fish variety in their food and keep them topped up on "good fats". Also a good tip is to try tropical fish peelets as these also help bring out the royal - navy colour in the zebra species and could really help keep your tank clean as these do not polute the watter as much as flakes.

I really hope this helps you out =]

  2. yes but they will eat when it is sinking usually, not from the surface

  3. Yes they do but you should feed them variety also. I have a male & a female & I feed them tropical flake food & cichlid pellets in the morning & frozen blood worms & brine shrimp in the afternoon. This will also make them breed if there are both sexes & they are mouthbrooders which is pretty neat.
