  1. Chamat is the closest. Both Fish Oil and Flax Oil have Omega 3 fatty acids... but they each have different fatty acids. Fish Oil has EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) while Flax Oil has ALA (Alpha Linolenic Acid), but Flax Oil also has Omega 6 (Linoleic Acid) and Omega 9 (Oleic Acid) fatty acids as well.

What does that all mean? They have similar benefits, but different specifics on a few. They are both good for cholesterol health, heart health, and skin health, but Fish Oil also helps with brain health while Flax Oil can also help with hormonal health in women.

Now, as far as the "fishy burps", if you take them right, most people don't experience the fishy burp. Chamat also hit that one on the head of not to drink it with pop or any other carbonated beverage (because they all make you burp). However, eating too fast or taking the Fish Oil on an empty stomach can cause the effect more. The main reason is that when Fish Oil is digesting in your stomach, it'll make the liquid smell fishy (because fish have a very potent smell)... drinking on an empty stomach or eating too fast can cause people to burp, and that's as simple as it is.

That being said, I've been taking Fish Oil for a couple years and have only had a "fishy burp" maybe two or three times since I started.

  2. Yes it does give you the Fish burps

  3. No it isn't.  I hear it's good for preventing headaches though.  Search the web.

  4. Fish oil helps lower cholestoral...it is good for ya! Im not sure about the fish burps? lol

  5. Fish oil and flaxseed oil are both great for the same reasons - they contain Omega 3 fatty acids.  So if you're trying to increase your daily intake of this essential fat, then you can take either one.

If you're going to take the fish oil, then don't drink pop or anything gassy shortly after.  It will give you fish breath when you burp.  It only happend to me when I took it at lunch, followed by a diet soda.  So just stay clear of that and you'll be fine.
