  1. for all the people that say cichlids are agressive only SOME not all and no they do not fin nip and the only reason they eat other fish is because its nature whatever fits in there mouth there gonna eat it

  2. if there are too many the oxygen content will drop, ending in floating upside down fish

  3. I think that cichlids are wayyy to agressive for guppies and tetras and gouramis. They are fin nippers and are best housed with their own kind.

But it depends how long you want your other fish. Try mollies or platies. If you are really looking for a cool fish, try the elephant nose or the butterfly fish. They are a little hard to take care of though.

  4. For get the gourami's they eat every thing go for more tetras and get a sucking loch to help keep the tank clean.  Get Swordtails Forget about Cichlids to much like hard work

  5. why dont you try FLOWERHORN instead of tropical small fishes?

the effort is the same, the expenses are the same BUT the result is very different because flowehorns are elegant and charming as they grow old!

flowerhorn is a cichlid so you cant put it together with the fishes you've mentioned.

  6. i would say your tank is already pretty crowded and DONT add any more fish

  7. Most cichlids are at least semi-aggressive.  If any of your guppies are female, you are going to have more than enough fish very, very soon!  Cichlids do not belong in a tank with the peaceful community fish you have.  If anything, you should get another clown loach because they do better in groups of 3 or more.  A pleco might be a good idea as you don't have any algae eaters in your tank.  Stick to a rubber mouth or a bristle nose pleco as they don't get to be over 6 inches.  The other kinds of plecos get too big for your tank.

  8. It depends on what sort of fish you like. If i were you i would either create a shoal of neons or similar small tetras or go with barbs as there is quite a large variety of barbs. I don't recommend you getting Cichlids  as they are very very aggressive. To have cichlids you would need a specialist tank Meaning you only have cichlids. Also if you did get cichlids your pretty tetra would be their lunch. Hope this was helpful
