  1. Yes. You have to, so the fishes can get new air and breath.

  2. I work in an aquatics centre and with every fish sale we have to give the customer a sheet with our policy on it and e say that 2hrs is the  maximum. The thing is if its a cold water fish or pond fish it should do better than a tropical, so 2 hrs should be fine just don't make any unnecessary stops and you would be less likely to lose a fish.

    hope this helps

  3. Fish are shipped in bags to the stores from the breeders, and they survive a day or so in the bag during that trip.

As long as you're in a temp-controlled environment (got the AC going if it's really hot out, or heat going if it's really cold out), the fish will be fine for a 2 hour trip.

Make sure that the pet store does a 30% - 70% ratio of water to air (more air than water) to be sure that there is enough oxygen for the fish, and you'll be just fine.

Don't forget to float the bag when you get home to allow the temperature inside the bag to acclimate to the same temperature of the tank that the fish is going into.

    Good luck!

  4. Try asking the petstore....

    My opinion....I don't think so....
