  1. A small school of dwarf platies (all of the same s*x) and a few cory cats.

  2. I'd skip the 12 gallon and go right for the 20.

Trust me, you'll want more space in a relatively short time.  Plus, the 20 is a little easier to keep.

As for occupants of a 12 gallon:

    Zebra Danios

    Leopard Danios

    Guppies

1 male betta and some danios

    Lamp-eye tetras

    For a 20 gallon:

Look into Rainbow Fish.  Amazing!  Beautiful!  Very nice in the aquarium. A little high maintenence.  Do some research.

Other good ones:  Mollys, Platies, Black Skirt Tetras, Lamp-eye Tetras, Barbs.  Go to the pet store and look at the "community fish".  All are great.

  3. I would not put any fish in a 12 gallon tank, I would not own a tank under 20 gallons, I do not see the point.

  4. well i suggest u get guppie males, or rasbora families, i love the harlequin breed. just remember you only have twelve gallons so no getting big fish

  5. I would get guppies...most people say each fish requieres 2 gallons to themselves so if thats true you cant get more than 6 but guppies are small so you can get probably 8 but no more than that. They are very easy to take care of...however they are a little dirty so you should get one or two bottom feeders as well.

  6. Here's some ideas:

    4 Zebra Danios

    3 Corydoras

    2 Mollies

    3 Guppies

Hopefully this gave you a few ideas. Have fun with your fish!!! =D

  7. either....

    1male betta

    4 black kuhli louches

    5 neon tetras

    or

    7 female bettas

    4 cory cats

I personally love the look of a betta sorority, so many colors!

  8. I agree with the first guy.
