I have a question regarding my baby platies. I have three babies born awhile ago. they are in a net inside the aquarium .One of them is big now, and ready to go in the aquarium. But the other two are like premies. The large on is about two times bigger than the other two. Whats the deal? I am new to having fish, and don't understand, please explain. Thanks

  1. the big one should be yur greatest bet, discard the other two.these two will soon die dueto inferior genes.always buy a few then keep it until u see a size difference then throw away the useless ones.

  2. most likely:

    1. it could have been born stronger

    2. it's a food hog (you should move it so the others get some food)

    3. it's just growing faster because it's odd like that

  3. maybe the bigger one is eating the food...go ahead and take it out and keep the others confined and feed them

  4. all fish grow at different rates.

It would be wise to remove the mature one.

I wouldn't worry i'm sure they'll catch up with the big one.
