When I clean my gravel it takes to much water its almost pointless its a pump siphon.I am wondering if I should return it.I am using it on a 10 gallon and it seems like all its doing is stirring up p**p and taking out more water than junk

  1. Get a small one then though the bigger ones take less time when cleaning and siphons are suppose to take out lots of water.

  2. If you are getting p**p and junk, then you need to do your vacuuming more often. I would start by only doing a water change twice a week and vacuum one quarter to one third each time, making sure to do a different pare each time. Cut down on your feeding, it will cut down on the amount of dirt in the gravel. You only need to feed your fish what they will eat in one or two minutes at a time one or two times a day (unless you have baby fish that need many more feeding a day but smaller amounts for them).

  3. Well, for my ten gallon I only stir the water up and use an icecream bucket to get rid of the yuckies.

I don't waste my time with the siphoning in the small tanks. Just use the siphon for larger tanks.

That is my opinion and I have been doing it this way for years.
