  1. I would say go for 3 to 5 Cory Cats and look at a school of some sort.

I like the the variety of tetras out there for a 10 Gallon Tank.

    My suggestion.

    6 Neon Tetra

    1 Dwarf Neon Blue Gourami

    3 Albino Cory Cats

This will give you some great color to the tank and a balance with the Cory.

    OR you could do

    3 Cory Cats

    5 Zebra Danio

    1 Dwarf Gourami

2 Platy (males - This way your tank wont be overrun with fry in a couple of weeks).

This gives you fish that stay at the top of your tank (Danios), A couple of fish that will go all over the tank (Dwarf Gourami and Platy).  And your bottom dwellers (cory cats).

You could easily bump the number of Cory Cats easily up to 5, but have found they are just as happy with 3 in a group in a 10 Gallon tank.

Cory Cats will be fine and love hiding spots and heavy plants...and go well with just about every type of fish.

  2. Supplement with food that feeds bottom feeders like a complete sinking pellet and shrimp pellets and spirulina.

Don't shake in extra flake food it just pollutes the tank.

get a pair or cories..no more no less and you should be fine for that tank size.

There are tons of cories to choose from so be patient if you want.

I hold out for pigmy cories all the time and for a 10 gallon you could get 5-6 easy.

Avoid real plants for now they take special care. The cories will be fine with gravel if it's smooth like most gravels you buy.

lots of hiding spots and caves really help a cory feel comfortable.

Great choice in fish...put 2 in your tank and they should go everywhere together.

    good luck!!!!

  3. yes they would be fine i'm sure also a good combination would be chinese fighting fish they go very well with other fish (but not to chinese fighting fish cause they could kill each other!!)

  4. Yes, a few Cory cats will do fine in that size tank. Just pick one of the smaller breeds so they dont crowd the tank later.

Tankmates - A betta would be great.  Otherwise a few male guppies, or maybe a dwarf gourami. All those fish tend to hang out in the upper area of the tank while the cories like the bottom, so its a good combination.

  5. Your tank is fine for the cory cats.  You're limited in what fish you can get because of the size of your tank.  You could have a school of 6 tetra's or a trio of some kind of livebearers like guppies or platies.
