  1. Brookies, smallmouths & perch all hit small inline spinners like roostertail, mepps, etc. They also go for soft plastics like grubs, tube jigs & small lizards. Small hardbaits like the rapala minnows and the rebel wee-crawl work on these fish too. Muskies will go for these small baits but they usually like the larger plugs and spinners. If you are going with live bait, crawfish (as mentioned) and hellgrammites are excellent choices for the species you mention. You can experiment with bait choices when you get there and the fish will let you know what they are willing to eat. Wish I could go with you, it sounds like it's going to be fun. Tight lines!!!

  2. Looks like you basically have four types of fish to fish for - bullhead and white suckers you could say were bait for the muskie (as would the others too) but we've always done well with suckers for muskie and pike and big lake trout. (W Mass area

For the smallmouth I'd look around for some crayfish under the rocks around the shoreline or in a nearby stream - they love crayfish...2-3 inches long

Perch and brookies would like nightcrawlers and/or small shiners (really small)

perch are very sneaky and hit very lightly...

Brookies - I would look for a stream that is emptying into the lake, I like to cast out a small - medium nightcrawler and let it float in the current into the lake from the stream...best time is if it starts to rain and the water turns cloudy (not muddy) they will be feeding... - works well in any stream or river that I've fished...

  3. In terms of what lake and what body of water you fish, they should all be good.

In terms of the species of fish you fish for and what and how you use the baits and techniques will be the magic of all of it.

    1) Muskie: Use live perch or a Zara Spook

    2) Small Mouth: Use a split shot and use a salt and pepper color or light chartrose color soft plastic artificial and throw it near rock piles and work it slow.

    3) Tiger Perch: Use redworms or night crawlers and either fly line it of use a split shot 24 inches above the bait or a bobber an throw it near weeds.

    4) White Sucker: Dough bait with corn and vanilla scent on the bottom and let it sit.

    5) Bullhead: Night crawler or cut mackeral with a sliding sinker on the bottom and let it sit.

    6) Brook Trout: Tiny hook and split shot 24 inches above bait in running water or deep water where its colder with 4lb test line and use redworm or a tiny piece of zeeks interspersed with a single red salmon egg and let it sit for about 5 minutes and if you do not get hit, recast.
