Fishing bass and catfish.?

well, i went fishing today and i didnt catch nothing, but im going tomorow. I want to use one rod for a lure and the other rod for bait. what kind of lure should i use ex. topwater,underwater, etc. also for bait what kind can i use for bass and catfish at sunset and at night?

for both, nightcrawler with a half inch on its tail slit in half vertically. when it stops moving, tie on a new one and use dead one for chum

i find for bass it all depends on the temp and weather conditions try a top water if nothing switch to a deep diver don't be afraid to rig up something different until you find something that works for a rod id a light or medium action and for the cat fish day or night chicken or turkey liver use a treble hook and some string and hook the hook through the liver then tie it to your hook to make sure your bait stays on

This few days is really good for fishing.Prebait the area before any cast,at sunset/night usually go for darker colour cos the fish wont be able to see your lure perfectly. anything moving is worth a shot to the fish,only the biggest fish would have the confidence to go for your lure at top water.Average sized fish would be under at the bottom hugging to some shelter at night cos the lack visibility.For bait,try something with lots of juices/bloody and also use some luminous beads/leads to attract them.

a small bluegill on a hook will catch either.. or use a piece of hot dog at night for the catfish.. or even plain old worms are best sometimes for either one... depending on what kind of body of water ur fishing, u could use corn to catch carp which put up a great fight... good luck
