I will be spending two months this spring in Manuel Antonio and plan on doing a lot of fishing. I plan on fishing from the shore. Could anyone advise me on what would be my best choices for baits and lures. Also any recommendations on what pound test and pole length would be appreciated. I am an experienced fishermen just not in the ocean. Thanks in advance.

  1. We were just in Manuel Antonio in April for our wedding.  We booked a half day off-shore fishing trip and didn't catch a thing.  I never witnessed anyone shore fishing . . . . but the locals should be able to help you with tips.  I would go to Quepos for fishing.  They have a pier there where you may be able to fish and you can buy a license there.

  2. YOU CAN BRING ANYTHING THAT YOU USE HERE IN THE STATES, I WOULD SUGGEST BRINGING ENOUGH TO SELL TO THE SHOPS TOO.
