Fishing lure retriever problem?

i have a lure retriever i use for bass fishing.the bottom of the retriever is plasic.its were u put your fishing line.i use 10 pound flurocarbon.and its on a 15 foot pool.the bottom plastic.. is getting groves in it from my fishing line.which means the groves are going to miss up my line each time i use my lure retriever.any idea on how to fix this.maybe some kind of hard paint spray are something to put on the plastic that gets groves from the fishing line.

  1. Try filling in the grooves with a good hard setting epoxy. This should make the plastic bottom of the retriever nice and smooth again. You might need to do a little sanding after the epoxy sets to get rid of any rough spots.


  2. adding only that finish the job above by using a buffing wheel to polish it all up, itwill give the edges a more smooth uniformity. but!  buying a new spool isn't very hard to do, simply contact the reel company's repair department. give them the model number and they will send one out in the mail...
