Hello, Me and friends were thinking to go fishing on a mountain creek/river/stream. It is pretty rocky so we wanted to know if we could do the heavy sinker fishing where you throw the bait in and attach a heavy weight. then attach a bell to see when a fish is biting.

  1. you could probably do that but fishing in mountain strems fish lie in the eddies and wait for food to drift down and then they ambush and then go back into the eddy. i would use ultra light gear and line and kinda combat fish the stream, make yourself small cast from behind rocks and boulders, keep shadow of your self off the water dont wear bright colors. split shot light line and crawlers and crickets is what i would use

  2. I would consider learning to fly fish for trout in mountain waters. You could drift a nymph or dry fly past the trout. The best way of course would be to hire a guide. He or she could get you on the fish with the proper gear and technique in the fastest way possible.
