Fishing out of long beach, ca?

going local or catalina 3/4 day. whats a good iron or lure to use for bass,sculpin and bababarracuda going saturday.

For barracuda, a large light aluminum jig like a Tady 45, in blue and white, is the best choice. They'll eat the live bait (sardines or anchovies) as well, but often the jigs will outdo the bait.

For bass, a plastic tailed swimbait like a Big Hammer is probably the best choice, though the live bait (sardines or anchovies) may do better.

For sculpin, a leadhead or small heavy jig with a strip of squid on it will outdo any lure-- just work it in little hops along the bottom.

Be informed, that area is so picked over they've been debating in recent years to cut it off.  I've never heard of sculpin being in these waters.  Maybe some sheepshead, definitely some halibut, and a few Dorados.  I always used those fat colorful lures with fish attached to catch.
