I am going into year 10 in September and also moving schools! I am getting really nervous about it as there is only 1 week until I move schools and I know that first impressions count. I have moved schools before, but I was a lot younger and I can't remember all that much of it. I did make friends but I think they approached me. I just want to know what makes a good first impressions.?? Often when I meet someone new I stutter because I am nervous, how can I over come this? Also I really don't know how to end a conversation and I always find it awkward! One other majorly embarrassing thing is that my dad will be teaching me for geography!! I am worried because if the other students don't like him, they may not like me!! I know that I only have one chance, and I want to get it right so badly because at my old school, I was bullied and picked on by a group of boys because I was so shy and never spoke in class. Luckily at my new school there are no boys!!! It's an all girls school. I really don't have a clue what the other girls are like, I think they must all be quite confident, because it's a grammer school.

I am also worried about my body language. I am aware that I somtimes hunch over and look at the floor becuse my mum keeps telling me I need to look more confident, but I just don't know how. Please help!

Sorry for all the questions, but I really need advice! thanks :) X

  1. you'll be fine,

just don't act cocky at all.

  2. just be your self and talk to loads of people u'll be fine x x

    all the best

  3. awww it seems like you aer just nervous,,...dont worry we all feel like when we start somethning new...even starting a new job can be nevre wrecking....once you enter the school in the first 10 mins your nerves will be gone....all the school children will b feeling nervous as its the 1st day back and statring a new year...you will b fine...just give plenty of eye contact and friendly smiles...

i dont think being a grammer school will make every one confident ,,,every one is different and approcah things differently.....im sure you will com across girls who are loud/confident and approachabale and also find some girls who are shy and nervouse like youself....

    hope this helps...gud luck...:)
