Fistral Beach dominates the Skybet Chase market
The Skybet Chase market has been scheduled to take place at the Doncaster Racecourse on 29 January. Some of the most talented racehorses will be taking part in this race. The field of competitors is being led by the colt Fistral Beach. It has been revealed
that the racehorse is the hot favourite with the sponsors, and will be sent out to contend the race at 6-1 odds with the sponsors.
The racehorse trains under the care of famed trainer Paul Nicholls, and hence is in demand. Fistral Beach has many impressive performances in his racing career. One of his most spectacular performances was the one that he gave in his debut race at the Wincanton
meeting, which took place at the start of 2011. Fistral Beach was one of the seven racehorses that were saddled by Paul Nicholls in that meeting.
The seven talented racehorses trained by the champion trainer include The Tother, Take The Breeze, Pasco, Taranis, Breedsbreexe and Meanus Dandy.
As for the Skybet Chase, a total of 54 entries have been made so far. It has also been reported that the listed chase will be run over a distance of 3 miles. Next to Fistral Beach, Aberdale is the favourite contender with the sponsors. It has been revealed
that Aberdale is as short as 10-1 with the sponsors. He is being saddled by the trainer Jonjo O’Neill and is the winner of the Whetherby meeting.
The Head of Racing for the Skybet Chase, Richard Horner said "Although the weights will not be revealed until next week, Aberdale is one we want to keep on side as he will get a lovely racing weight, if the top weight stays in, and novices have a good record
in our race.”
Other major entries for the race include the leading racehorse King Fontaine, Carole’s Legacy and the winner of the 2008 edition of the Grand National meeting, Comply Or Die.
On the other hand, the champion hurdler Rite Of Passage has been ruled out of the hurdling campaign this racing season by his connections, since his trainer and owner want him to target the Ascot Gold Cup.
