I play football, and to keep fit but also for the fun of it, i run 3 miles everyday (varying in speed all the time) i also bike to work as i am only 16, this is 2 miles but all up hill. I also do an hours worth of weight excercises a day using 10kg, 4.5kg and 2.3kg dumbells.

I want to increase my fitness for an improved game next season, is there anything else i can do to acheive this, any excercises that focus on being fit for football, not just fitness in general?

  1. do suicides, they help a lot in stamina

  2. it sounds like you are already aerobically fit and are doing a good job with your strength training. but to be fit for football/soccer (im American, don't hate) you should look up some routines that specifically address agility, reaction time, and ball control. im positive that there are thousands of sites on the web that will tell you how to improve in those areas. but what i found useful was "Nike Boot Camp" it starts off a little slow but gives you some good routines that are football specific. its totally free and only requires a few pieces of equipment (six cones, a resistance band, and a medicine ball).

    good luck

  3. put in mind thats for games!

  4. you sound pretty fit already, but i would suggest doing intervals, which is where you pick up your pace for about 30 seconds (or any other amount of time). I would also recommend working on you core by doing crunches or something to strengthen your core. Good Luck!

  5. It sounds like you're as fit as you need to be, but keep in mind that for games you'll be jogging, walking, and sprinting for 90 minutes

Try running more than 3 miles a day, like 4 or 5
