Fitness questions frustrate Pittsburgh Steelers LB James Harrison – NFL News
The consistently hanging sword of fitness questions has frustrated Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison, who has remained on-and-off the possibility of a game this season in spite of having made to practice sessions for a few times since start of
the season.
James has been without a game since the wildcard tie he played against the Denver Broncos in January this year, as his inability to stay fit during the off-and-preseason has reduced him to be on the sidelines over this period.
With start of the season, the linebacker has hit the field for training for a few times but has been inconsistent throughout, leaving himself without a game.
Now a number of questions have been raised about his fitness level and status of a minor procedure on the knee he had on August 15, much to the frustration of the player.
He said:
"The constant questions, of course just nags and irks on you."
Still, the linebacker is not confident if he is going to make it to the next game, and he in spite of being in bad mood as far as imposing queries are concerned, remains as uncertain as ever before.
Interestingly, since removal of the player from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list just before start of the season, the Steelers have not given an official or team version on the recovery and fitness status of the player.
So, it is much down to speculations or a remark here and there from Harrison himself to his defence that explains the entire situation. It is not just the player; his fans are even more frustrated about the delayed recovery and return of Harrison and lingering
doubts.
Harrison’s status this week is not clear yet but the chances will be determined by his training this week. If he is able to turn up for workout during all sessions this week, especially on Friday, he is likely to be considered for Sunday game, otherwise
in absence of an official confirmation his chances are remote. This might affect the Steelers to an extent given the team has already been suffering on the safety position as Troy Polamalu is out with a calf injury.
