Fitting rear brake disc to apollo fs26 frame?

is it possible to convert v brakes to a brake disc on the rear of an apollo fs26 mountain bike?? if so, what and where do i get the parts i need??

  1. V-brakes and disc brakes are completely different, and cannot be "converted" (there is not such a thing)???

    You will be able to put a rear disc on the frame, if the frame has the correct mount for the brake block- this pic will explain the 'mount' for the disc, if your bike has this, then you will be able to put a disc brake on the rear wheel.

  2. Why on the rear? If you want just one disc put it on the front. 70% of braking power occurs at the front wheel, not the back... the back just skids and makes you lose control in heavy braking.

    That being said, you'll need the proper mounts on the frame and the correct hubs. This can get pretty expensive... probably more than a whole new bike.
