  1. From a few hundred dollars to a few thousand.

It depends on what type of wall you already have, how hard it is to change the existing plumbing, what kind of tiles you want, what fixture you use, if you change the tub, what shower inclosure you use (shower doors vs shower curtain-personally I prefer a shower curtain with a tub), etc.

Basically it is all up to you.

Decide what you want done. Pick out the fixtures and parts you know you will need and get prices. Then call contractors for a quote.

  2. Depends on what sort of shower you want...the best sort is a mid range shower with an integral pumb which provides instant hot water whether or not the water is hot in your house, these vary in price, but a mid range one with a glass shower screen should be less than about £500....I've just had one fitted, but it was with the rest of the bathroom so its hard to judge how much the shower was......look in a catalogue such as one from Plumb centre to see how much they cost...a plumber will generally charge about £20 an hour plus vat plus travelling....so you could say about £250 for labour plus the cost of the parts.

  3. Its difficult to give an exact figure for this work, shower fittings come in many price ranges. If you are at all handy or know of a local handyman, this could cut your costs considerably.I did my own tiling, easier than you might think.I bought the tiles in a sale at half the normal price and I also bought my shower in a sale at Argos also at half price. If you get a local plumber he will be able to get the pipe work needed at a lower price than you.You can either have a shower rail & curtain or just a screen.Shower curtains can be bought very cheaply in most of the bigger supermarkets.D.I.Y.stores usually sell the more expensive ones.A  company will charge you a great deal more than an individual for the work.Ask friends if they know anyone, only go with someone reccomended tho'.Best to have a good look around for materials first & then get at least 3 quotes.

  4. i fitted my own, it cost me 80 for the shower from argos about 20 for curtain and pole, 30 amp cable about a pound a metre, mcb a tenner and copper pipe and elbows about 20. if your paying for a plumber and trician to fit add about 300 onto it depending on what its like to fit..

  5. Doon't blame you for that. We had it done as part of a bathroom recovery. it depends how good you are at DIY

You know the cost of the shower you want or can find out via catalouge shops such as Argos or online. Yoiu will need ann electrician, a plummer and a joiner. i think you can say goodbye to about £250/300 plus your shower. Well worth it though especially if you are on a water meter
