Five Rivers has the best chance of winning Jenkinsons Caterers Novices´ Hurdle
Five Rivers has the best chances of winning the Jenkinsons Caterers Novices´ Hurdle at Stratford in England on Saturday, March 24, 2012. The winner of the class-4 event will bag a cash prize of £3,249.
Eight runners will be seen in action and their names are as follows: Loose Chips, Judiciary, Five Rivers, Shabak Hom, The Bear Trap, Armagnac Rebel, Highmead Harry and Nha Trang.
The going will be good and the race distance to cover is 2 mile and 3 furlong, which will test the stamina of the participants. The event will start at 2:10 GMT.
Although Five Rivers has been unable to win any race over hurdles until now, the bookmakers still have faith in his abilities. However, the punters might not be placing a lot of bets in his favour, considering his overall stats.
The six-year-old gelding has taken part in five hurdles until now, winning none of them. However, he has secured a couple of runner up positions, which suggests that he is quite capable of fighting for race victories.
Warren Greatrex’s trainee has been in good form recently, thus he will be full of confidence at the moment. He finished runner up in his previous two outings and will be looking to break the shackles this time around.
Five Rivers will be partnered by seasoned rider, Paddy Brennan, who has earned 190 victories over hurdles. He does not have a very good strike rate though, which might work against him in the end.
Second favourite to win the race is, Loose Chips. He has not been in good form recently, but has the ability to fight for the top positions. He has entered three races over hurdles, winning one of them.
The six-year-old gelding finished 11th in his most recent appearance, thus the bettors will be a touch hesitant over risking money in his favour. He lacks momentum at the moment and will need a clear run in order to end up on top of the table.
Charlie Longsdon’s trainee will be partnered by Felix De Giles, who has won 82 races over hurdles. He will be looking forward to another impressive run today.
Judiciary, Shabak Hom and The Bear Trap are also good runners and will have solid chances of winning at Stratford today.
