Five co-favourites are the highlight of A2 race at Belle Vue
In each 470m greyhound race at the Belle Vue Greyhound Stadium in Manchester, two things are always guaranteed – a favourite in every race, and a high level of excitement.

The first of two A2 races on Wednesday 17 November contained both of these elements, only with the number of favourites multiplied by five.
In a highly unusual move, the odds makers billed five of the six racers as 7-2 co-favourites, with the top three consisting of three of them. Dun Katelyn was the winner, earning her position
after an early pace from trap two. She soon led, and went on to finish the race in 28.36. Second place went to Romeo Hondo, whose clear run landed him 1¾ lengths out of the top spot in 28.50.
Shes Amazing crowded first en route to a third-place finish in 28.56. She was ¾ lengths behind Romeo Hondo. Ard Master also crowded first, resulting in a loss of four lengths. He would
go on to complete the race in 28.88.
Baltylum Droopy, the only non-favourite in this race on 5-1 odds, moved slowly away and was forced to check first. As a result, he finished fifth in 28.89, a head’s length out of fourth
place. Bringing up the rear was Telmarcs Blue, the final co-favourite. He lost three lengths after bumping first, finishing the race in 29.13.
The second A2 race featured only one favourite in Lulus Pet, who was staked with 9-4 odds. Starting from trap one, she pulled off a very close victory, leading at the first bend after
experiencing some crowding. She completed the race in 28.68. Finishing a neck’s length behind her was Trionas Quest (6-1). He bumped first, but ran on to finish in 28.70.
Judicial Audit (4-1) claimed third place after bumping first. He posted a time of 28.80, placing 1¼ lengths out of the number two position. Fourth place belonged to Lisacaha Emma (3-1),
who also bumped first. She lost 2¼ lengths as a result, and finished the race in 28.98.
Bumping first appeared to hinder the progress of many of the dogs in this race. Hillview Stan (4-1, fifth place) and Fabulous Linen (6-1, sixth place) both bumped first as well. Hillview
Stan went on to finish in 29.08, 1¼ lengths out of fourth place. Fabulous Linen would also be forced to check third, and he finished 2½ lengths behind the fifth-place finisher in 29.28.
Belle Vue Greyhound Stadium will host its next race meeting on Thursday 18 November. The first race of the evening begins at 19.25.
