  1. first i like to remind u, if u r exiting fr the immigration (restricted area)... u wil hv to c if u need a visa to enter HK. then, when u return back in to the landing zone......u probably hv to pay the 'leaving HK' airport tax as u r aldy 'landed' in HK. sorry 4got how much is the tax... it's aro HKD$100.

n the HK airport is far fr the city...so mostly u can goto the biggest outlets mall nearby airport. here's their website. if u taxi there, just 10-15 mins + charges = approx. HKD$50.

  2. five hours....

you could take the subway to Hong Kong station from airport express....around HK station, there is a big mall namely IFC which is good for people to see, eat, shop and wander

another option, you could take the subway to Kowloon station, walk to the Victoria harbour in 10 mins, it is the harbour with tall and best world rating skylines behind. Take some pictures and have a walk and get an ice cream...

  3. By the time you clear immigration and customs, find your way to the airport express train and take the train into the city, you won't have time to do much except get back on the train to the airport, clear security and find your gate. You could take the airport express to HK Island, have a look at the harbor and take the Star Ferry across the harbor, but won't have much time for anything else. Five hours isn't much time, you might just want to stay at the airport. HK Airport is one of the nicest airports in the world with plenty of great shopping and restaurants, it's not a bad place to be for five hours or so.

  4. I dont think it's worth to go to city centre. 5 hours is just too short.

There is a big outlet near the Airport though, you can do some shopping there.

    Have fun.

  5. Shop Shop Shop. Best place in the world for cheap but awesome electronics, pirated DVDs, etc. There are a lot more places you could see, but 5 hours is like, too short.
