Five role players that led the San Antonio Spurs in the last decade: NBA Special (Part-2)
Michael Finley:
Michael Finley has played almost five years for the San Antonio Spurs and during his time at the Spurs, he played wonderfully and earned a great name for his game. He joined the Spurs in 2005 and played until 2010 as his initial
role was to help forward Manu Ginobili. Later, he developed himself as very attacking player. His tremendous game soon established him a perfect three point specialist.
Though, earlier, when he first came in the Spurs’ roster, many people had speculated about his inconsistent game that can be dangerous for the Spurs in the upcoming seasons, but not only he improved his individual game, but also
helped his new team to excel in the league.
He started improving his game and soon won his first NBA championship in 2007. In that particular championship run in 2007, Finley played tremendously and helped his team to win the Larry O’ Brien Trophy with great courage. He
played with total commitment and never gave any loop holes to his opponents’ team. Tim Duncan along with Robert Horry and Manu Ginobili were the main players who also recognised his worth and acknowledge his brilliant contribution. They bluntly said about
Michael Finley as he certainly played a wonderful competition and helped us winning this precious title.
Bruce Bowen:
Bruce Bowen is considered one of the best defensive players of the San Antonio Spurs. He played for the Spurs for almost eight years and earned a great name for his game. He won the NBA title for three times with the Spurs and
showed the world his individual great talent.
He arrived in the Spurs in 2001 where he joined some of the very best players including Tim Duncan, Malik Rose, Steve Smith, and Tony Parker. His arrival in the Spurs roster proved wonderful for Bowen as he started playing well
in the beginning of the season. In his very next year he played total 82 regular season games and averaged 7.1 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. In that particular season, Bruce Bowen also selected in the All-Defensive Second Team and later won his first NBA
title in 2003 with the Spurs.
Bruce Bowen established himself a great defender and started again a very good run for the 2004 championship but bitterly lost by the mighty Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Semi Finals but came back in 2005 and won
the title in style.
