Five runners lined up for Bath Marquees Handicap
Only five runners have been attracted towards the Bath Marquees Handicap at Chepstow in England on Friday, June 15, 2012. The winner of the class-5 event will be given a cash prize of £2,264.
The going will be heavy in the 1 mile, 2 furlong 36 yard event, which is scheduled to start at 20:25 GMT, and following runners will be seen in action: Sammy Alexander, Hamilton Hill, Taste The Wine, Tijori and Effigy.
Out of the above mentioned runners, there is a doubt over the participation of Effigy, who is an experienced runner and could have had a good chance of winning the race. He has participated in 51 events until now, winning just three of them.
Although most of the runners are inexperienced at this level, the conditions are in favour of Sammy Alexander, who has won the best odds from the bookies today. He will definitely attract a lot of bets from the punters, as his performances at this
level have been extremely good.
The four-year-old gelding has participated in 11 races until now, winning a couple of them and finishing third on the same number of times. In addition to that, he has also secured the runner up spot once, which shows that he has the ability to fight
at the front consistently.
The David Simcock’s trainee performed exceptionally in his most recent run, as he finished on top of the table by almost a couple of lengths. He has not rated as the favourite back then, but surprised one and all in the end.
Sammy Alexander will be partnered by experienced rider, Martin Lane, who has been in pressure situations before as well. His record is good, as he has managed to win quite a few races at this level, but will need to improve his overall strike rate
in order to attract more bets in the future.
On the other hand, Hamilton Hill might manage to spring up a surprise at the end of the day, as he has the tools to do so. He has participated in 13 races so far, winning one of them whereas took the runner up and third place on the same number of
times.
