Five runners lined up for Betfred Manifesto Novices´ Chase Grade 1
Only five runners have been attracted towards the Betfred Manifesto Novices´ Chase Grade 1 at Aintree in England on Thursday, April 12, 2012. The winner of the class-1 event will be awarded a cash prize of £42,713.
The race is scheduled to start at 16:50 GMT and following are the names of the participants: Al Ferof, Menorah, Pepite Rose, Cristal Bonus and Alasi. The going will be good to soft and the runners will have to cover an overall distance of 2 miles and 4 furlongs.
The bookies have rated Al Ferof as the favourite to win today’s race, as he is a very good runner. He has been performing really well over the past many months and is expected to make a solid impression at Aintree as well. The punters will also have a lot
of faith in his abilities, thus they might place a lot of bets in his favour.
Al Ferof’s record in chase races has been very good, as he has won a couple of them out of four attempts. In addition to that, he has also secured one third place finish, which means that there was only once occasion, where he failed to make it to the top
three.
The seven-year-old gelding was in great rhythm some time ago, as he was winning consistently. However, his form dipped to some extent, as he was unable to fight for victories in his previous two outings.
The Paul Nicholls’ trainee finished fourth in his most recent race, which indicates that he might struggle to perform at Aintree today. However, he is a fierce competitor and has very good chances of bouncing back.
Al Ferof will be partnered by veteran rider, Ruby Walsh, who is a phenomenal jockey and has won plenty of races in this class. The most impressive thing about him is his high strike rate, which shows the level of consistency he performs with.
Other than the race favourite, Pepite Rose will also be the one to watch out for in the race. She has a 100 percent winning record in chase races, winning all four she took part in.
The other runners might not manage to win the race, as the top two favourites are in extremely good shape.
