Five runners to compete in George Harrow Memorial Novices´ Handicap Hurdle
Only five runners have been attracted towards the George Harrow Memorial Novices´ Handicap Hurdle at Carlisle in England on Sunday, November 4, 2012. The competition amongst them will be a tough one and the winner will be awarded a cash prize of £3,249 in
the end.
The distance to cover for all the participants will be 2 miles and 1 furlong, which means that their stamina will be tested. They will have to put some extra effort, as the going has become soft due to some rain overnight. There are chances of more showers
before the start of action, which might make the situation worse.
However, the organisers will be hoping that the weather remains clear for the remaining day in order to get some action in the class-4 encounter. The race is scheduled to kick off at 13:00 GMT.
There are some decent runners lined up for action, but the best chances of victory appear to be with Fine Kingdom, despite the fact that he has never won any event over hurdles. His performances in this format have been really impressive though, which means
that his confidence level will be high.
He has been given a general starting price of 6 to 4 and the punters will be interested in risking a lot of bets on him. He is a highly skilful stallion and should be able to bring up his maiden victory over hurdles.
Overall, the three-year-old gelding has participated in 16 races until now and has been unable to maintain a decent strike rate. He has been victorious just once in his career and will be looking to add more victories to that tally.
However, the Brian Ellison’s trainee has made a recent discovery about his potential of doing well over hurdles. Therefore, he is participating in such events with consistency now. He has managed to come close to winning on a few occasions, but failed to
do so in the past.
Despite that, the talented runner will be confident of shining at Carlisle and his fans will be backing him up completely. He will not need to worry a lot about his partner, Danny Cook, who knows how to win races over hurdles.
