Five steps the Dallas Mavericks must take to defeat the Miami Heat–2011 NBA Finals Special:  Part 2
Third Step: Forget about the regular season dominance
The Mavericks won both of the games against the Miami Heat during the regular season. Both defeats of the Heat came at the time when they were playing their best basketball of the season. The Mavericks have proved that they possess
the ability to beat the Heat even when they are at their peak.
However, the Mavs cannot be over confident of their previous performance against Miami. Playoffs are a completely different ball game and they will be up against a team that has just shrugged away the defensive giants Boston Celtics
and the break out Chicago Bulls.
Fourth Step: Keep sizzling from the three-point range
No one can ignore this fact that Miami is a more able-bodied team as compared to Dallas. The games of the series are played at fast beat with both of the teams being pin downed to get out in the transition, and then it would be
much favourable for the Heat as compared to the Mavericks.
In order to handle this situation in the series, the Mavs have to make shots, essentially from distance.
During the playoffs, the Mavs shot 39 percent from the three-point range, making about nine of them in each game. Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, Peja Stojakovic, and Jason Kidd have been terrific beyond the arc and each of them has
the capacity to change the complexion of the series. These players should continue to pull down shots from deep at a higher percentage.
Anyhow, if those shots are not falling, the Heat would in deep trouble.
Step 5: The Mavericks must knock off the Heat down the stretch
Miami and Dallas have been enormous in concluding down the stretch during the playoffs, which is the main reason why these teams reached their destiny.
Both LeBron James and Nowitzki proved themselves as strong finishers for their teams during the playoffs. Forward James scored 13 of his game-high 35 points in the fourth quarter in Miami’s victory against the Chicago Bulls in
the fourth game of the Eastern Conference finals.
Both teams have remarkably shown the ability to make huge comebacks late in the games as they have been winding up so efficiently late in the games. However, the Mavericks have to be improving in the last crucial six minutes of
the games.
If Dallas can handle Miami for the first three quarters of the games, their advantage of being the veterans would definitely provide them a benefit late in the final stanza.
Conclusion
The Mavericks are just three victories away from the championship trophy. They have to take the above-mentioned steps in order to further enhance their performance to take a sweet revenge against the Heat.
