Five teams that can spoil Miami Heat’s journey to the next NBA championship (Part 2)
Los Angeles Lakers
Do not underestimate Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers in the next season over just one bad series in the previous season. The Lakers choked against the current champion Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Semi-Finals
and gave away the series by 4-0.
However, one cannot discard them from being one of the strong title contenders in the next season. The Lakers have taken some important steps to begin a new journey in the next season. One of these few steps was the hiring of new
head coach Mike Brown, who had guided the Cleveland Cavaliers twice to the National Basketball Association Finals.
Brown is famous for his defensive tactics and this is what the Lakers need at this time.
Moreover, Kobe who led his team and fans down in the previous semi-finals, received an experimental procedure on his nagging knee that caused him lot of trouble in the previous season. With the extra delay in the season, Bryant
had got enough time to recover from his surgery.
So when the five time NBA champion steps on the hardwood again there will be some fireworks. Then there are players like Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum, who will be rearing to put last season’s disappointments to bed.
Dallas Mavericks
The Mavs beat the Heat in last season’s NBA finals and in doing so, avenged their heartbreaking loss in 2006.
The Final was not less than a nightmare for Miami Heat, especially LeBron James and rest assured that when he gets the sight of the Mavs next season , he will be rearing for a revenge.
However, this won’t be easy going, even though few key players from Dallas are now free agents.
Boston Celtics
The Big Three Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett still have one or may two years left in them, so it wouldn’t be wise for the Heat to discard them at this stage. Because the Big Three still have the power to change the face
of the game.
The C’s had lost the semi-final series against the Heat in the previous postseason, but a team with 56-26 record in the regular-season cannot be underrated. The Heat had defeated the C’s with the combination of their impressive
speed and skills.
However, if the C’s came against the Heat in the playoffs, they surely come out prepare. The C’s failed to figure out a strategy against the youth and skills of James, which makes him one of the best in the business.
